The Stage Where Statesboro Shines
A historic landmark and creative anchor, the Emma Kelly Theater brings performing arts and music to life in the heart of downtown.

Emma Kelly Theater
What Makes This Stage So Special
Originally named The Georgia Theater, the Emma Kelly Theater was built as a “motion picture theater” and opened for business in 1936. Entertaining audiences for close to 50 years, the theater closed in the 1980’s. It has since been restored true to its historic style and now is a beloved facility of the Averitt Center for the Arts.
